    • Create a new virtual hard disk now. You can use the default options for creating the virtual hard disk.
  6. Select Hard Disk File Type:
    • Choose the default VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) option.

    • You can choose either dynamically allocated or fixed size storage. The dynamically allocated option is usually sufficient.
  8. File Location and Size:
    • Set the file location and size for your virtual hard disk. A minimum of 20GB is recommended, but you can allocate more if you have space.
  9. Edit Virtual Machine Settings:
    • Before starting the virtual machine, go to the "Settings" for your Ubuntu VM.
    • Under "System," in the "Processor" tab, allocate the number of CPU cores you want to assign to your VM.
  10. Mount the Ubuntu ISO:
    • In the "Settings" for your VM, go to the "Storage" section.
    • In the "Controller: IDE" section, click on the empty CD/DVD icon and choose "Choose a disk file."
    • Browse and select the Ubuntu ISO you downloaded.
  11. Start the Ubuntu VM:
    • Click "Start" to boot up your virtual machine.
  12. Install Ubuntu:
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to install Ubuntu. You can choose to try Ubuntu or directly install it.
    • During the installation process, you'll be prompted to select your language, time zone, keyboard layout, and create a user account.
  13. Complete the Installation:
    • Once the installation is complete, you can log in to your new Ubuntu virtual machine.

That's it! You've successfully installed Ubuntu on Oracle VirtualBox. You can now start using Ubuntu within your virtual machine. Make sure to install VirtualBox Guest Additions for better integration and additional features.
